Never really been a fan of Porno Holocaust, to be honest, though like anything, I'm willing to give it another shot. I quite enjoy Beyond the Darkness, It has a nicely melancholic vibe to it, the score helps as does the gore.JP Mulvanettihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05381363705787780363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8409782986498845263.post-251081223999643452014-04-24T18:07:23.642+01:002014-04-24T18:07:23.642+01:00John I'm in complete agreement, I like Joe D&#...John I'm in complete agreement, I like Joe D'Amato as well - his Emanuelle films are the best of the series (official and unofficial) and I enjoyed Anthropophagous and Porno Holocaust, two films I think get too much of a kicking. To be honest, I don't mind much of D'amato's output (that I've seen, anyway), the hardcore porn elements of his films have probably given him a worse rep than he deserves. Then again, I could be talking through my hole.JP Mulvanettihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05381363705787780363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8409782986498845263.post-30884360344491777052014-04-24T14:59:15.039+01:002014-04-24T14:59:15.039+01:00Thanks John ! Yeah you would think this one to be pure schlock, but unlike so many films that never live up to the ballyhoo, Blood Vengeance, or as it’s better known as Emanuelle's Revenge, is meant to be pretty good. I haven’t seen the film myself but it seems to be a regular fixture on Recommend Me a D’Amato lists. One to seek out maybe, last time I Weshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10502948357255970132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8409782986498845263.post-78923465673316207122014-04-24T14:08:51.042+01:002014-04-24T14:08:51.042+01:00YES! I'll see if I can find that Dark Side book I mentioned, it must be in the house somewhere. Yeah Vinegar Syndrome are putting out some great stuff, they seem to have grabbed the torch from Something Weird and ran with it - they already have some a pretty impressive catalogue of titles, Horror, sleaze and Adult stuff and where possible the films have Weshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10502948357255970132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8409782986498845263.post-53724528866179226762014-04-24T09:28:12.310+01:002014-04-24T09:28:12.310+01:00Wow, it's been a while since I saw the Jekyll ...Wow, it's been a while since I saw the Jekyll and Hyde Portfolio cover. I remember seeing it in one of the 'Darkside' VHS Nasties' books yonks ago, though obviously it wasn't a nasty the title was selected due to the offensive nature of the cover. And they weren't wrong. It always looked like a frame grabbed from a really fucked up porn or possible snuff flick, and for JP Mulvanettihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05381363705787780363noreply@blogger.com
